Welcome to my blog. It’s about time I started it. I’ve been talking about it long enough, and many friends have told me I should start one. Thanks to Dean Holland’s Quick Start Challenge I started it today! I am very excited about completing the challenge and have a very good feeling about what I’m going to be able to accomplish. The first week’s challenge was easy, it was to create a blog….tomorrow we start week two’s challenge! You can see my posts about the rest of the challenge on the left under "Recent Posts".
"Adventure" is one of my favorite words, so I thought it was fitting to name my blog "Kathy’s Adventures". This challenge is going to be a rewarding adventure, I’m sure.
Well, I guess I should tell you a little bit about me. My maiden name is Kathy Vaterlaus. Yes, Vaterlaus! It’s Swiss German. I met two German’s at a bowling alley once and they laughed at my name and said that it meant "father earwig" in German, but I looked it up and it means "father louse". I guess an earwig is a louse. All I know is that my father is NOT an earwig or a louse, but he is weird, in a good way.
I live on the Oregon coast and because of some interesting circumstances, I recently moved into my classic ’84, 23′ Lazy Daze motor home, Lucy. She was named Lucy when I got her about 10 years ago. Lucy’s not as small as she sounds. She’s got a roomy floor plan, a solar panel and an inverter. She also has a portable generator just in case! She’s a classic! I Love Lucy!
My dog lives with me. She’s a 15 1/2 year old Boxer named Novia. She was named Novia when I got her about 15 years ago.
I definitely love Novia! (She’s got the body of a 12 year old!) Novia means bride, fiancee, and sweetie in Spanish. She’s definitely a sweetie!
You can see pictures of Lucy and Novia above. Oh yeah, and of me, too. I will be posting pictures and videos of us on our adventures so please come back and see what we’ve been up to. Feel free to comment. We’d love to hear from you!
I’m an Internet Marketer and have been learning a little here and there for several years. Lately I’ve been specializing in creating mobile websites for local businesses. When I was married we owned a very popular steak & seafood restaurant and lounge here, so I get a lot of satisfaction from helping local small businesses get more customers from the Internet.
I’m currently staying in this part of the Oregon coast, but my goal is to be on the road right about Independence Day! That’s not too far away, is it? I know I can do it, even with the price of fuel. Lucy’s a diesel and she’ really hauls ass! There’s lots of beautiful places around here I’d like to visit.
I’d love to do some traveling with Novia before she’s gone and also to help local businesses here in Oregon and in other places, too. With the Internet I can help businesses wherever they happen to be. I also want to learn other ways to make money online. I’ve recently been learning how to make videos and rank them high in the search engines, and I’ve really enjoyed learning how! I am learning to create passive income since I don’t have any retirement income to count on.
Anyway, I have to go for now. It’s dinner time and Novia and I are getting hungry. Stay tuned for updates!
PS. You can keep up with our adventures by checking out "Recent Posts" in the left column! See you there!
PPS. Please sign up to my list and receive a free report on mobile marketing for small businesses. It’s a very important topic! It’s a mobile world out there, after all. Occasionally I’ll send you other information about ways I’m learning to make money online, but don’t worry, you won’t hear from me every day.
